Dining Services, in the Division of Student Affairs is one of the largest departments on campus with yearly revenue in excess of 70 million dollars and 1700 full time, part time, special event and student employees, Dining outlets range from resident dining halls to nationally branded quick service restaurants, convenience shops, catering, cafes in academic buildings, a full service restaurant, concessions at Big 10 athletic events, all supported by in-house teams: facilities, IT, marketing, laundry, bakery, HR and business office.

Job Status Options
Regular – Full time employment with a full benefit package
Contract 2 – One year employment contract with limited benefits. Contract may be renewed and after a period of consecutive renewals automatically converts to Regular status.
Contract 1 – One academic semester employment contract. Contract does not renew, however Contract 1 employees are welcome to apply for employment for following semesters.

All Dining Services employees are classified as essential and must report to work when the campus is closed due to weather or other emergency situations. Must be able to work a variable schedule including weekends, nights, evenings, and holidays if needed. Annual leave will not be granted for specific periods including the weeks preceding and right after the start of each semester, Football Weekends, Maryland Day, Family Weekend or special events. Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment with or without accommodation and to lift up to 15 pounds regularly. The University of Maryland is a non-smoking, drug and weapon free campus.
