Terrapin Express

Terrapin Express is a debit account accepted at over thirty participating locations across campus.
Students, faculty, staff, and university affiliates can access products and services on campus without carrying cash or an additional card.
If your UMD ID number is in the system then you can open a Terrapin Express account.

• Open an account: navigate to Terrapin Express online and log in using your UMD ID number.
• Add funds at any time using a valid credit card. There is no service fee.
• Terrapin Express funds are available immediately.
• Access funds using your UMD ID card.

Terrapin Express rolls over automatically and does not expire.

You can increase your Terrapin Express balance at any time.

To activate your Terrapin Express account or add funds make a credit card deposit online at https://dsonline2.umd.edu/terrapinexpress/

Three ways to check your balance:

• Visit Terrapin Express online.
• Call the Dining Plan Office at 301-314-8068.
• Ask any cashier for a receipt. 

Restrictions

• Terrapin Express is not accepted anywhere off-campus.
• Terrapin Express cannot be billed through a Student Account. Pay at the time of purchase.
• Terrapin Express is not a substitute for a resident dining plan.

Refunds

• Request a refund or cancellation in person or in writing to the Dining Plan Office.
• Refunds are mailed from the Bursar’s Office to the permanent address on record.
• Processing time is aproximately four weeks.
