Policies & Information

Placing Your Order
Orders must be placed by 9:30 AM for next-day pickup. For Saturday and Sunday orders, place your order by 9:30 AM on Thursday. To ensure the best service, large orders should be placed at least three business days in advance.

Payment

Payment is required in full when placing your order.
We accept University Purchasing and Travel Cards, KFS accounts, Terrapin Express, Dining Dollars, and all major credit cards.
Upon receipt of your order, a detailed invoice will be emailed to you for approval and payment. Your order is not finalized, and production cannot be scheduled until the signed invoice and payment in full are received.
UMD Departments: Please review your invoice to ensure the order is correct. By placing your order, you authorize the Shops at Maryland to charge your KFS account, departmental purchasing card, or departmental travel card. No further authorization is required.

Pickup

Orders can be picked up during regular shop hours.
Bakery items and beverages can be available early in the morning.
Custom cake orders require two business days' notice.

Sustainability
We prioritize sustainability and are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through local sourcing, composting, recycling, and donations to the student-led Food Recovery Network. The disposable products we use can be recycled or composted. We are happy to help you make your event greener by offering vegetarian and vegan menu options, eliminating disposables, and using seasonal and/or local products. Composting and recycling containers are available across campus—view the campus map for locations.

Dietary Restrictions
Our baked goods are baked in equipment that may have been used for products containing nuts, gluten, dairy and other allegens. We are happy to discuss ingredients and possible cross contact. While we will make every effort to accommodate special dietary needs, we may not be able to fulfill all requests.
