The University of Maryland wins Gold Award for Innovative Wellness and Nutrition Program!
UMD Dining Services in cooperation with UMD Athletics won the 2016 National Association of College and University Food Service Horton Award for Most Innovative Wellness and Nutrition Program. “Nutrition Month Madness,” combined the fun of March Madness with an educational nutrition component directed at students in the dining halls. Sister Maureen Schrimpe, Nutritionist and Quality Coordinator, will be recognized during the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards Lunch Saturday, July 16 in Anaheim, California. The program was designed with the help of student nutritionists, Emily Tolino and Amber-Ray Davidson, Senior Executive Chef John Gray, and many others.
