Dining @ Maryland

Students

Welcome to Dining @ Maryland. We hope your stay with us is both educational and nutritious. We’d like to tell you a little about what we do on campus.

  • Dining Plans are available to all students — whether you live on or off campus.
  • The Dining Plan Calendar helps you keep track of when your plan is available and restrictions to your plan based on the time of the semester.
  • The Focus Date chart helps keep you on track with your spending throughout the semester.
  • Use Online Services to keep track of your balance, to change dining plans (first three weeks of the semester), or to add points to your Terrapin Express account.
  • Your University of Maryland ID card gives you access to dining plan points and to many other amenities on campus. This card is a valuable tool and brings with it privileges and responsibilities.

We like to have fun, too. We hope you’ll participate in our program, eat with us in the dining halls, and enjoy our special events.

  • Our two main dining halls, The Diner and South Campus, serve from over 20 individual culinary stations — we feature many cuisines to suit many palates and dietary needs. Value Meals
  • Special events and daily specials are great breaks in the usual routine and give our staff a chance to show off their skills and join you in having a little fun at dinner.
  • Check out our regular Hours of Operation – we’re open from 7:30 in the morning until after midnight during the week (shorter hours on weekends). Stop in any time for a meal, a snack or just to meet your friends.
  • Hours of operation when campus is closed will help you find food during weather or other emergencies.

We employ over 400 students every academic year.

  • For information about employment and to apply to work with us, visit our Student Employment page.
  • For information about scholarships offered by Dining Services and to get an application for these scholarships, visit our Student Scholarship page.

Our dietitian is available to talk about accommodations for medically prescribed diets, nutritional information, or other concerns.
