Descriptions of Resident Dining Plans

Resident Dining Plan

The Resident Dining Plan is composed of both Resident Points (80% of the plan’s points) and Terp Bucks (20% of the plan’s points). Be sure you don’t use all the Terp Bucks at once–you’ll need them to finish out the semester! This is our most popular plan. Many students select this plan and then supplement it with Terrapin Express if additional spending/dining money is needed.

Resident Dining Plan Plus

The Resident Dining Plan Plus provides more Terp Bucks than the Resident Dining Plan and the same number of Resident Points. This means greater flexibility and more dining options. This plan is good for students who like to eat in different locations, want to purchase more snacks, and are big eaters.

Resident Dining Plan Red

This plan is designed for the student who will eat most of their meals in the dining rooms and want more Resident Points and fewer Terp Bucks. Red plan holders begin with the same number of Resident Points available to them as the Resident Dining Plan and Resident Dining Plan Plus. Additional Resident Points are added to the account midway through the semester. Resident Dining Plan Red members are exempt from the budgeting system once the additional points are added.
