Name That Station

Help name the Serving Stations in the New North Campus Dining Hall, and you could win $50 Terrapin Express Card!

Submit your best ideas for serving station names in the new dining hall. If you submit a winning name, you will earn $50 in Terrapin Express! We will award a TE card for each of the twelve serving stations, so you could win up to $600.

Great flavors and big variety, showcasing food free of the “Big 8 Allergens” with both made-to-order and pre-made items. Since the theme of this station is based on the ingredients, not a specific cuisine, we will be serving a widely varied menu.

The “Big 8 Allergens” are Milk, Eggs, Fish, Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat and Soy.

Asian Express

Fried rice, noodles, dumplings and all your Asian favorites. Compose a stir-fry creation and our chefs will toss it in a wok for you, or select a prepared dish featuring flavors from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and occasionally a taste of the Indian sub-continent and the islands of the Pacific Rim.

Breakfast All Day

Made-to-order omelets, pancakes, cereals, bagels with a super smear bar, eggs to-order, bacon and more traditional morning fare. Breakfast is not just for breakfast anymore! Serving your favorites, and some new takes on classic morning menus, from early on until late in the evening.

Chef's Feature

Our culinary team loves to experiment and to try out new recipes, and we invite you to join us! We will use this station as an opportunity to be creative, test future menu items, and even show off a little. Talk with us! We’re happy to show you how we do what we do.


Watch as our chefs grill, sauté, fry, broil and barbecue your favorite home-style foods: rotisserie chicken, smoked brisket, fried chicken, grilled fish, garden fresh seasonal vegetables, rice pilafs, potatoes — mashed, baked or scalloped — and much, much more.


Fruit & vegetable infused still and sparkling water, and other great, refreshing beverages.


Menus from Mexico, Central America, and South America. This station will feature a range of Latin American sauces and toppings, further customizing an ever-changing menu. The centerpiece will be a tortilla maker where guests can watch our cooks forming and finishing fresh tortillas.


Sit at the counter at this display cooking station and watch our chefs cook pizzas, calzones, and baked pasta dishes made from scratch in the Mediterranean blue oven. Enjoy kabobs and other specialty foods straight off our two in-line grills.

Micro-Restaurant Grill

A counter service restaurant complete with a full grill, fresh popcorn and big screen TVs. Use a touch screen to create your own custom meal or grab the ready-to-eat items on the counter: sliced to order meats piled high on fresh rolls, flame broiled burgers (both meat and plant based) grilled chicken, fries, onion rings and more.


Start by picking from four soups, stews and chilis and a dazzling array of fresh vegetables, fruits, yogurts, and grains. Like to top your chilled creation with something hot? There’s a grill with a chef cooking up toppings. At the far end, you’ll find fresh smoothies all day long!


At sunrise, we pull fresh-baked breakfast breads and pastries out of the oven. You can build waffles with luscious toppings and help yourself to breakfast bakery creations. Later, enjoy the aroma of cookies baking and watch as we finish cakes, cupcakes and pies and top them with a scoop of Maryland Dairy ice cream.


Great food, and not just for full-time vegans. Innovative recipes, a wide range of flavors and huge variety. The only limit to what we offer here is that nothing on this station contains animal products. Offerings include a regular rotation menu and custom made-to-order items.
