Dining @ Maryland

Building Design and Project Standards

  • All buildings and remodeling projects are in compliance with campus regulations with respect to facility design and performance as well as construction methods and standards.
  • We are developing standards to ensure all renovated facilities qualify for LEED certification.
Dining Services is also working with the Division of Student Affairs to create divisional building standards and to have two staff members LEED accredited.
  • The Denton Project, scheduled to be completed by 2011 will be one of the first LEED Silver Certified Dining Facilities in the state of Maryland. Features of the new building include a green roof, Energy StarĀ® equipment, triple paned windows, variable controlled HVAC systems, skylights and occupancy sensors.
