October’s tip

October is national apple month! A medium-sized apple contains about 80 calories and is a good source of potassium and fiber. The fiber in apples is a mix of soluble and insoluble fiber, providing heart health and digestive health benefits at the same time.

Try apples in salads and desserts or as toppings for meat, fish and chicken. Cut them up and enjoy them as a snack alone or with peanut butter! Apples come in many varieties, so don’t be hesitant to try the different types you may be surprised about the varying tastes apples can have!
