Stress Management During Finals

We all know that midterms and finals are no fun and can add a stress to our life. Follow
these tips to feel refreshed for your next test.

  • Get Enough Sleep.
  • To ensure a clear mind, make sure to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night. A brain can inhibit your ability to think clearly and can cost you careless mistakes on a test.

  • Eat A Balanced Diet.
  • You may think that caffeine and energy drinks are your last resort to focusing on your studies. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet will help prevent the dreadful crash after a few cups of coffee. Load up on plenty of fruits and vegetables and remember not to skip meals because the brain needs energy to think and perform at its peak.

  • Take A Break.
  • Studying for hours and hours can actually hurt your test performance. Be sure to include short study breaks so that you are able to recharge. You will you be able to concentrate more and you will also feel better.

  • Manage Your Time.
  • Planning is one of the most helpful ways to manage your time. Make lists and prioritize them based on importance and stick to it. Procrastinating will only makes things worse.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
  • If you are having trouble understanding notes or other assignments, go directly to the professor. If the professor seems to be busy, schedule a time to meet with a tutor.
